Heads up, Hitchcock fans!
Turner Classic Movies, in conjunction with AMC Theaters and Fathom Events will be screening Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 classic film Rear Window in theaters for two days only: March 22nd and 25th.
I’ve been attending the TCM Presents screenings for a while now (see my experience with Casablanca on the big screen here) and I’m excited to see yet another one of my favorite films in theaters.
If you don’t know (and really, you should), Rear Window stars Grace Kelly and James Stewart as a couple of peeping Toms who get a little more than they bargained for as they peek into the life of their apartment neighbors.
It’s suspenseful, funny, and romantic all at once, in only a way Hitchcock could pull off. The film won four Academy Awards, including (not surprisingly) Best Director, and is ranked #42 on the American Film Institute’s Greatest Films of All Time list.
If you’ve never seen the film, I highly suggest making the trip to the theater next week. If you’ve seen it a million times, go again. (Plus, why would you ever turn down the opportunity for movie theater popcorn!?) You can purchase tickets now through Fathom Events. And, be sure to arrive EARLY if you’re going to an evening showing. Seats fill up quickly.
And don’t forget: the TCM Classic Cruise with Disney Cruise Line bookings open on March 24th. Classic films + Disney + Disney Cruise Line sounds just about like heaven to me. If you’re going, please consider stowing me away in your luggage. I don’t need much, just some air and a few Premium Mickey Bars.
Have you seen Rear Window or will you be going to see in theaters next week? Leave a comment and let me know! I’ll be back next week with an overview of my experience.
(I have no association with Turner Classic Movies or any company mentioned in this post. I’m just a classic film freak and I think you should know about this amazing opportunity.)
