Even though I try to act like I don’t like bucket lists, I totally have one. It includes such gems as “See a game at every MLB ballpark” and “climb all of the peaks in the Adirondacks.” I’ve recently added “attend the red carpet premiere of The Force Awakens” because you guys? It’s on my birthday.

It also includes watching every movie on the original American Film Institute Top 100 Greatest American Movies list. (There’s a 10th anniversary edition as well, but I’m not a fan of some of the changes that were made between the two lists.) I’ve seen a vast majority of the films: 71 out of 100 exact, but I need the satisfaction of knowing I’ve watched all 100 films, and I haven’t seen some of the films like Taxi Driver in a long time. Also, this gives me the perfect excuse to make popcorn as much as I want.
Watch With Me AFI Top 100 Films
So, over the next few months, I’m going to be watching my way through the AFI’s Top 100 films list, starting with #100 and making my way to #1 and sharing my thoughts with you either through blog posts, quick videos, or a Periscope or two.  I was going to give myself 100 days to watch all 100 movies, but let’s be real- we all know I’m not committing to 100 straight days of something. Plus, I’ll have to wait for the library to have some titles available for borrowing (because mama isn’t buying 100 movies on Amazon.)

It’s going to take a while, but it’s going to be so worth it. I’ll be posting the movies I’m watching on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram under the hashtag #FDM100Films so be sure to follow along and watch with me!

How many of the Top 100 movies have you seen? What’s on your bucket list?
